ICiT joint statement

We independent choreographers respect one another's own unique ways of activity and expression, and gather to enliven the future of dance. At the same time, in the spirit of cooperation we mutually face various problems and exchange opinions.

The individual should open to society and also society should be respectful of the individual. We need to make a society which has a diverse sense of values and promotes rich individuality.

As independent choreographers we aim to pursue originality by keeping an objective distance to systems of modern consumption. The authentic acts that arise from such attitudes give birth to an abundance of unknown dance -- dance no longer caught within the frames of preconceived ideas.

We believe that in order to make a respectful society where richer individuality can coexist, it is significant that each of us present a diverse sense of values. With uniform values, it would certainly be difficult to look towards the future. Thus, it is as independent individuals that we face the audience, taking a straight look at society in real time.
